We pride ourselves in being a friendly, welcoming and inclusive Lodge. Our members come from a very wide variety of backgrounds and professions.
Members live, for the most part, in and around Ludlow (Richard's Castle, Orleton, Overton, Craven Arms, Caynham, Cleobury Mortimer) as well as further afield.
For many years we met in the Masonic Temple in Brand Lane, Ludlow, but have recently moved our meetings to Tenbury Wells Masonic Hall, which gives us a convivial masonic meeting place.
What happens at a Lodge Meeting?
The lodge meets on the first Wednesday in the months of October through to May with the exception of January when the meeting is on the second Wednesday.
Like most Lodges, we meet in the evenings, starting at 6.15 p.m.
The evening is normally in two parts.
First, there is the Masonic Business conducted in the “Temple”. This would be any administrative matters followed by the main part of the meeting, the Masonic Ceremonies of admitting and advancing members and the annual installation of the Master of the Lodge and his officers.
Secondly, after the meeting, members can opt to stay for a meal, which Masons call the “Festive Board” at which toasts are given and received, the peculiar “Masonic Fire” is practised, the general atmosphere being that of conviviality mixed with Masonic tradition. It is a great place to make new friends.
This is an important side of our organisation. There are, throughout the year, many social events organised by members, at which we welcome wives, partners, family and friends.
